Leadership Team - Nevada National Guard

The Adjutant General for the State of Nevada. As Adjutant General, he is the senior uniformed Nevada National Guard officer responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, programs and plans affecting more than 4,000 Nevada Army and Air National Guard personnel. Appointed by the Governor, State of Nevada, the Adjutant General serves as the Governor’s principal adviser on all National Guard issues.

 

Colonel David R. Chauvin serves as the Nevada Air National Guard’s Director of Staff, Joint Force Headquarters Carson City, Nev. He serves as an advisor to the Adjutant General of Nevada, the Chief of Staff for Air, and the Commander of the Nevada Air National Guard.

Brigadier General D. Rodger Waters serves as the Land Component Commander and Director of Joint Staff, Nevada National Guard. As the Land Component Commander and the Director of Joint Staff, Brig. Gen. Waters manages the Nevada National Guard Joint Staff and joint military program operations throughout the state. He oversees joint staff operations supporting 4,300 Soldiers and Airmen serving in the Nevada National Guard.

 CW4 Nielsen was born in Reno and was raised in Carson City, Nevada. He began his military career in on active duty in 1994, attending basic and advanced individual training as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Operations Specialist at Ft. McClellan, Alabama. CW4 Nielsen was then stationed at Ft. Polk, Louisiana.

Command Chief Master Sergeant Cameron M. Pieters is the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Nevada National Guard, Carson City, Nev. He is the principal advisor to The Adjutant General and leaders on enlisted matters influencing the health, morale and professional development of Nevada National Guard Members.

Chief Master Sergeant Sherdean S. Din is the State Command Chief, Nevada National Guard, Carson City, Nev. She serves as The Assistant Adjutant General’s principle military advisor on all enlisted matters affecting training, readiness, health of the force, and professional development for all enlisted members of the Nevada Air National Guard.

CSM Dennis L. Basilio was born in the Philippines and entered the Army in Guam, USA, in May 1996. He attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advance Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia, as Distinguished Honor Graduate. Upon graduation, his initial assignment was to the 1st Infantry Division, 2nd Battalion 63rd Armor in Vilseck, Germany.
