LEADING AS A WARRANT OFFICERSelf Leading- is one of the most important fundamentals of being a good leader. Prior to becoming an inclusive and influential leader, a person must master the attributes that makes them an inclusive and influential human and soldier. These attributes include self-awareness, accountability, self-reflection, and emotional intelligence, among others. While these attributes certainly do not come naturally to us all, having the ability to recognize ones own values, biases, strengths and limitations is the first step to becoming and inclusive and influential leader.
Team Leading– All of the above self-lead attributes are integrated to enhance influential leadership. Most Warrant Officers are poised to be successful influential leaders as their years of experience and expertise can be combined with the years they have spent developing their self-lead attributes while in support of leaders, staff officers, trainers, and managers at all levels of Army, Joint Interagency, Intergovernmental and multinational organizations. The success of team leadership hinges on the success of self leadership.
